The Long Shadow of Panjshir is a spy-based military adventure novel that explores the murky and dangerous world of covert intelligence collection.

It’s London 2022, a year after the fall of Kabul, and a serial killer is on the loose, just as a beautiful Russian spy, codenamed Babushka, arrives in town. All the victims are human intelligence assets for the British security Services and are slaughtered by the knife.

The story moves at breakneck speed to the Panjshir Valley in Afghanistan and uncovers a spider’s web of murder, treachery, and deceit linked directly to the heart of the Kremlin. The story unfolds as Collette Brown and Christian McCann from MI6 race to discover the truth that connects past betrayals during the Soviet occupation to the present insurgency against the Taliban. Where MI6 uncovers secrets about the Russian invasion of Ukraine that could save thousands.

FIVE STAR REVIEWS

The tangled web of intrigue and deception as Russian agents, Afghan warlords, MI6 spies and private contractors are brought together makes for a cracking story and a thoroughly satisfying read.

I enjoyed the link between the past and present and how all the different agencies are brought together for one aim.
I highly recommend this book.

You feel the heat, the sand and the tension as though you were part of this exclusive intelligence service, an uncanny and prophetic tale written by someone who has been there and done that.

I had been waiting for this new release and it certainly didn’t
disappoint. This would make brilliant FILM.

Delaney is a new master of wrapping intelligence operational details and exciting action into a complex but compelling story. Like a mix of Frederick Forsyth and Chris Ryan, W.T. Delaney is a must read for fans of UK thrillers. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.
