In W.T Delaney’s latest, “The Long Shadow of Panjshir”, we follow along as the murder of British assets connects to a former Spetsnaz turned intelligence agent who has vital information on Russia’s plan in the Ukraine and her plan to return to Afghanistan’s Panjshir valley for a final mission. If that seems like a bit much for one novel, you couldn’t be more wrong. Delaney is a new master of wrapping intelligence operational details and exciting action into a complex but compelling story. The first half is intelligence tradecraft heavy as Delaney sets us up for the action-packed last half. Characters Mac and Katya’s complicated relationship is a pleasure to experience along with MI6’s wheeling and dealing to see their mission through to the end. Another must read from Mr. Delaney.
WOW…another amazing GRIPPING book written by a brilliant writer. I had been waiting for this new release and it certainly didn’t disappoint. This would make brilliant FILM!

This turned out to be one of those gems of indie publishing and also everything I look for in a thriller. Like a mix of Frederick Forsyth and Chris Ryan, W.T. Delaney is a must read for fans of UK thrillers. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.
